Intuit $INTU Investor Day: A Reminder That This Is Much More Than a Tax Software Company

One of the more interesting Investor Days I followed this week was from Intuit. While the market remains focused on recent customer growth challenges, management spent most of the event outlining how the company is transforming into an AI-powered financial intelligence platform.

The centerpiece of the strategy is Intuit Intelligence, which combines proprietary financial data, AI models, domain expertise, and human experts to help consumers and businesses make better financial decisions. Management highlighted that Intuit has data from roughly 10 million businesses and an average of more than 625,000 data points per business, creating a significant competitive advantage as AI becomes increasingly important across financial workflows.

What caught my attention most is that Intuit is moving beyond simply adding AI features. The company plans to make much of the DIY tax experience AI-native, allowing AI to gather information, prepare returns, and answer questions before the customer approves the final output.

Another key takeaway was the strength of Intuit's growth engines:

✅ Assisted Tax

✅ Money Solutions

✅ Mid-Market Offerings

Together, these businesses now represent about 30% of company revenue and are growing around 30%, well above the corporate average.

Management also reaffirmed FY2027 guidance:

• Revenue growth of 9-10%

• Non-GAAP EPS growth of 23-24%

• Global Business Solutions growth of 13-14%

• Credit Karma growth of 11-13%

The challenges are real. Intuit openly acknowledged that it missed new customer targets, particularly in TurboTax DIY, and that pricing played a role in customer losses. Reaccelerating customer acquisition is now a major focus.

My takeaway?

Many investors still view Intuit through the lens of tax preparation software. Management is clearly trying to build something much larger: an integrated ecosystem spanning taxes, accounting, payments, lending, personal finance, and AI-driven financial advice.

Whether they can fully execute remains to be seen, but yesterday's Investor Day reinforced why Intuit remains one of the most interesting AI-enabled software platforms to watch over the next decade.

The market is focused on the recent stumble. Intuit is focused on the next chapter.
